TESTED. Available drug kills Coronavirus in 48 hours in laboratory test in Melbourne (Australia)

Ivermectin may be the answer to the Coronavirus pandemic. Fingers crossed

Fantastic news from Australia as a drug that is widely available to the public and it’s completely safe, Ivermectin, has proved to be extremely effective against the Coronavirus.

Ivermectin is an FDA-approved anti-parasitic drug that is already FDA-approved. According to a study conducted by the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute (BDI) with the Peter Doherty Institute of Infection and Immunity, it kills the infected cells within 48 hours in a test laboratory.

The Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute’s Dr Kylie Wagstaff commented: “We found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA by 48 hours and that even at 24 hours there was a really significant reduction in it.”

Why this is fantastic news

Hoping that this drug will be effective against the Coronavirus, it will be (obviously) great news as getting a proper vaccine to the public will take at least 12 months and we can’t have the world in lockdown for at least 1 year.

Dr Wagstaff added: “Ivermectin is very widely used and seen as a safe drug. We need to figure out now whether the dosage you can use it in humans will be effective — that’s the next step.

In times when we’re having a global pandemic and there isn’t an approved treatment, if we had a compound that was already available around the world then that might help people sooner. Realistically it’s going to be a while before a vaccine is broadly available.”

Fingers crossed, this can be another piece of the puzzle.
