BRILLIANT. Respiratory Therapist in San Diego finds a smart way to show his smile

A simple and genial idea used to give a little bit of comfort to the patients struggling with the Coronavirus

Laminated pictures in ER

The ER is definitely not a fun place for anyone. Unfortunately, during this Coronavirus pandemic things are becoming more and more impersonal with the healthcare staff wearing all sorts of protections to avoid being infected.

“Robertino” is working in San Diego at the Scripps Mercy Hospital and he had an extremely simple, but the smart idea of putting “a giant laminated badge for my PPE,” to help his patients to relate.

Here his message on Instagram:

“Yesterday I felt bad for my patients in ER when I would come in the room with my face covered in PPE. A reassuring smile makes a big difference to a scared patient. So today I made a giant laminated badge for my PPE. So my patients can see a reassuring and comforting smile #respiratorytherapist #respiratorycarepractitioner #covid_19 #ppe #sandiego #california #pandemic #hospital #rcp #hospitallife #stayhomesavelives #healthcareheroes #frontliners
