Great news from Baltimore as Nasir Striggs, 7, defeated the Coronavirus infection while also fighting sickle cell anemia.
Little Nasir has sickle cell disease, and he was diagnosed as positive to COVID-19 after his mother DeShannon noticed that he was struggling to breathe. An X-ray revealed he had pneumonia on both of his lungs and he had to go through 3 blood transitions because of her particular condition.
Nasir’s mother commented:
“He had to keep getting stuck by the needle because the needle kept coming out. To watch him go through that, it was really scary. Just keep the faith. That’s the message: keep the faith.”
